As a game designer, I strive to create thoughtful, immersive experiences driven by compelling stories. Stories have always been a source of comfort and inspiration for me through life’s ups and downs. Through my games, I hope to create worlds that provide the same kind of relief for others, or at the very least, entertain them for a short while!
This semester, I’ve explored linear, branching, and puzzle-based games, and I love the unique opportunities each format offers. Linear games like Late for Class allowed me to craft a curated, paced narrative, while branching games like Cryptid Dispatch Center gave players more agency and replayability. I also enjoyed turning control over to the player in the puzzle-based scenarios of Cryptid Dispatch Center. No matter the format, I aim to continue creating stories through my games, whether that be about a tiny cat trying to get dinner, or a student struggling to get to class on time.
When people play my games, I hope they can expect intention and care in every detail. It would be an honor to create an experience, however short, that lasts with players long after the game ends.
